Ulster County Center for Well-Being

County-run behavioral health hub offering mental health, substance use, urgent care, and peer recovery support for adults and children in Kingston.

The Ulster County Center for Well-Being is a hub for behavioral health services offering mental health and substance use outpatient treatment, urgent behavioral health care, and peer-led recovery support services under one roof for both adults and children.

Operated by the Ulster County Department of Mental Health.

Programs:

1st Floor:

Ulster County Crisis Support Center

A 24/7 community crisis response hub where people of all ages can connect immediately with an integrated team of counselors, peer specialists, and behavioral health professionals.

Located on the ground floor of the Center for Well-Being and operated by People USA, the center serves people experiencing emotional distress, psychiatric symptoms, substance use challenges, or other life stressors.

2nd Floor:

Crime Victims Assistance Program

Mental Health & Substance Use Clinic & Urgent Care

Comprehensive services for adults and youth, including a walk-in "urgent care" for immediate evaluation and counseling. Ongoing clinical services include individual therapy and psychiatric medication management. Operated by Access: Supports for Living and located in the Ulster County Center for Well-Being. No appointments needed, and no one is denied services due to inability to pay.

3rd Floor:

Children's Way Counseling Center

A clinic providing outpatient mental and behavioral health treatment to children, adolescents, and their families. Located in the Ulster County Center for Well-Being, operated by the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie.

4th Floor:

Ulster County Department of Mental Health
