Ulster Literacy Association

Non‑profit providing adult literacy, GED preparation, and volunteer tutor training.

Ulster Literacy helps adult learners from all walks of life learn basic reading skills as well as English as a new language in a safe, confidential setting. With the support of trained volunteer tutors, learners achieve personal goals such as getting a driver’s license, attending a parent/teacher conference, becoming a citizen, or finding and keeping a good job.

The Ulster Literacy Association also trains volunteer tutors to provide one‑on‑one literacy and GED preparation to adults. Training and orientation sessions are conducted online; volunteers commit to 1–3 hours per week and must complete all training sessions.
