Town of New Paltz – Office for Community Wellness (OCW)

Municipal office that coordinates free wellness workshops, programs, and community events for all ages in New Paltz, with a focus on mental health, substance use, and social connectedness.

The Office for Community Wellness (OCW) is a department within the Town of New Paltz government, originating in 2017 following a federal Drug-Free Communities grant. Staff work with stakeholders, parents, and youth to develop and coordinate workshops, programs, and activities for all ages. The OCW addresses local needs related to mental health, substance use and addiction, suicide prevention, connectivity, and social support. It partners with approximately 100 community organizations across New Paltz, Ulster County, and the Mid-Hudson Region. Free community events and trainings for adults and professionals are offered throughout the year. Its public-facing event site is Thriving Together New Paltz (npthrivingtogether.org).
