Family of Woodstock – Emergency Housing Hotline
Call any time, day or night, if you need a place to stay. Family of Woodstock's 24-hour hotline connects individuals and families to emergency shelter and housing assistance
If you have nowhere to stay tonight, Family of Woodstock's 24-hour hotline is a free, confidential first call. Trained staff and volunteers help individuals and families in Ulster County find emergency shelter and work through their housing crisis.
Family operates emergency housing for individuals and families at the Darmstadt Shelter and Family Inn in Kingston. During business hours, placement generally requires a referral from the Department of Social Services. After hours and on weekends, Family draws on federal emergency funds, when available, to cover a single night's motel stay until further arrangements can be made.
The hotline is the agency's oldest program, running continuously since 1970, and follows Family's "any problem under the sun" approach — offering an empathetic, non-judgmental ear and connection to food, clothing, counseling, and other support alongside housing help.
